Species and finish
Our molded products are crafted from the finest North American hardwoods: maple, cherry and dark walnut. Since we use natural materials, the shade and grain may vary from piece to piece. After a fine sanding, generous coats of non-toxic oil are applied to protect each product and ensure a smooth finish.
Shade
(Worked or sanded wood reveals a brand new surface. The colour will appear in its full richness only after three months of exposure to light. For this reason, we recommend that you do not keep our products in the same place or conceal any of the surfaces permanently during that period. Otherwise, the shade of the concealed portion will be paler than the rest of the product. For example, in the case of the salad servers, we suggest that you invert them top-to-bottom on a regular basis, and remove them from their stand from time to time during the first three months.)
Care
To ensure that wood products enjoy a long life and maintain their smooth texture, apply mineral oil when needed. Allow it to penetrate for several hours and wipe off excess with a clean cloth. To wash, use a wet cloth with soapy water (liquid dish detergent), rinse with a damp cloth and towel dry. Dot not place in dishwasher, use excessively hot water or soak the product.
